An LED light bulb is a solid-state lamp that uses Light-Emitting Diodes (LED) as the source of light. One high power LED chip used in LED light can emit up to 7500 lumens for for an electrical power consumption of 100-Watts. LEDs does not emit light in all directions, and their directional characteristics affect the design of the lamps. The efficiency of conversion from electric power to light is generally higher than with incandescent lamps.

Features:

• Long Lasting- LED bulbs last up to 10 times as long as compact fluorescent bulbs and far longer than typical lights.
• Durable- Since LEDs do not have filament, they are not damaged under circumstances when a regular incandescent bulb would be broken. Because they are solid, LED bulbs hold up well to jarring and bumping.
• Cool- These bulbs do not cause heat build-up; LEDs produce 3.4 btu's/hour, compared to 85 for incandescent bulbs. Common incandescent bulbs get hot and contribute to heat build-up in a room. LEDs prevent this heat build-up, thereby helping to reduce air-conditioning cost of the premises.
• Mercury Free- LED bulbs are mercury free as no mercury is used in its manufacturing and hence safe for health.
• More Efficient- LED light bulbs use only 2-17 watts of electricity (1/3rd to 1/30th of incandescent or CFL). LED bulbs used in fixtures inside the home save electricity, remain cool and save money on replacement cost since LED bulb last so long.
• Cost-Effective- Although LEDs are initially expensive, the cost recouped over time and energy saving. LED bulbs use was first adopted commercially, where maintenance & replacement costs are expensive. But the cost of LED light bulbs is now continuously going down.
• Light For Remote Areas- Because of low power requirement for LEDs, using solar panels & batteries becomes more practical and less expensive than running an electrical line. LED light bulbs are also ideal for use with small portable generators & UPS which we use for backup power in power breakdowns and emergencies.
